Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Why do you not offer a daily hire service?

A. Experience has taught us that people tend to hire a vehicle for 5 or 6 days when making a long distance move, and put themselves under needless pressure. We decided therefore to offer 7 days hire for the price of 5, and remove that pressure! If you only need a vehicle locally for a few days, we will do our best to accommodate your needs; just let us know what they are.

Q. Are your vehicles all fully compliant with European motoring requirements?

A. All of our vehicles carry certificates of roadworthiness issued in the country of registration, and all road taxes are paid. In addition, they come equipped with hazard warning triangles, high-visibility vests and spare bulb sets. Copies of any paperwork that may be required are also supplied. You should note however that it is the responsibility of the driver to make sure that they are operating in compliance with the laws of the relevant country. It is also the responsibility of the hirer to provide us with copies of the driving licences of all drivers in order to validate the insurance.

Q. I want to go somewhere other than Spain, France or the UK, is that permissable?

A. Yes. We have had vehicles go to other countries within Europe in the past including Germany, Belgium and Holland, and can quote you based on your requirements.

Q. This is a major journey for me, can you offer any tips to make it easier?

A. There is no substitute for planning! Give yourself as much time as possible to make the arrangements for the journey, and plan regular rest stops. If you are not used to driving long distances it is especially important to look at the trip a day at a time; we can often advise you of good stop-over places, depending on your route. It is a good idea to take some basic food and drink supplies with you, as delays can happen in the most remote of places. Remember to carry out daily checks on oil, water and lights.

Q. Is it alright for me to carry my pets, and other passengers?

A. Yes, subject to our Conditions. If you are planning to take pets we can advise you what steps to take where veterinary services are concerned, and recommend a practice, as well as loaning (deposit 100 euro each) or selling you appropriate cages for the journey.

Q. Will I be covered in the event of a breakdown?

A. Yes. In most cases there is a sticker with contact number for emergency assistance on the inside of the windscreen. Alternatively the information is contained within the document wallet. We also provide you with telephone numbers to contact us direct if you experience difficulties.

Q. What costs, other than the agreed rental fee and deposit am I liable for?

A. None, as long as you drive safely and return the vehicle and contents to us in the condition in which you received it. Naturally we cannot be held responsible if you are fined for breaking the law. We will make a charge if the vehicle is returned without items such as hazard triangles, high-visibilty vests or bulb sets, these are currently charged at 25 euros per item. We do not charge in cases where bulbs are used to replace faulty ones on the hired vehicle.
